My posts have been so serious lately. Time to lighten up.

Dancing Matt

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

This is one of the best things I have ever seen.

“Where the Hell is Matt? (2008)”

This makes me feel hopeful. What a cool thing to do.

If you haven’t seen the white guy doing his goofy dance all over the world, often accompanied by others – from Australians to Huli Wigmen, Rwandan children, or Bollywood dancers – do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s less than 5 minutes.

And if you love it like I do, check out his website, for older versions, outtakes, and a great FAQ. He also has a book coming out, stories behind each location: Where the Hell is Matt?: Dancing Badly Around the World.

More LOLcats

I’ve been thinking about why pictures of cats with funny captions is funnier than pictures of dogs with funny captions. Could be just my opinion as a cat-lover, but there’s a reason why was about cats before it included dogs. And why there’s a and My Cat Hates You (home of Bad Cat, much funnier than Bad Dog or Bad Baby), and lots of others. (more…)

I love LOLcats

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

I have to admit, I can’t get enough of pictures of cats with funny captions on them. These are also known, of course, as LOLcats.

I’m not ashamed of this, though I am a little embarrassed to add that I have devoted hours of my all-too-brief and precious lifetime, to making my way steadily through the archives at

Time spent laughing is time well spent. And in honor of that, here are some of my favorite LOLs.

That’s enough for now. More later.
